Weren't you building a new house? How has COVID-19 impacted construction? and your retirement date?
Hello Mary! Good questions!
Retirement date - I submitted a non-binding acceptance of contract for 2020-21, since we were already taking out time with building the house.
We are just getting bid from builder now, though some of the things that he would have had to get done through the county, like the grading plan and the septic approval, have already been done. These were items that would likely have been held up, if we were trying to do them now, so it was good that we did them ourselves.
Should maybe start building in June/July. Hold ups will more likely be related to having "discussions" with Roger, like the fact that he is trying to take all (exaggeration) of the doors out of house. For some reason, he is obsessing on the costs of doors.
Does he want open doorways, or rooms that are sealed off?
Mostly open doorways and just one room sealed off. Though maybe that wall would be fine with an open doorway...
I always vote for doors on bathrooms.
I like inaccessible rooms. We appear to have a few where I work, they're on the floor plan, and they have numbers, and there's some square footage that's unaccounted for, but there's no way in that we've found. I want to schedule a meeting in one of them.
