That's a fun rerun! I don't remember much detail about the race, but doesn't look like from the splits that I made any bigger mistakes. Thomas time was just super good. Here is what I wrote:

Nice! Yeah I didn't remember any specifics about it either which was nice as it didn't feel like a course I'd run before. Totally agree that Ebey is mentally (and physically) so tough. Just constantly feeling like you're getting beaten into submission by the terrain, and then trying to re-summon some kind of speed once you fight your way back to the trail each time.

Interesting that we took dramatically different routes on a few of them (7, 10, 11, 14, 18) and to see which of straight vs. around was better at different points.

How is the family and everything? Do you have Oliver orienteering yet? :)

Life is good. Small town, no traffic, working a lot from home. Perfect with a family of small kids. Tons of orienteering and a nice coastline. But we miss the mountains and epic nature in western NA and all the friends there. Oliver is 7 and started the youngest group in the junior program in the club back in September. It's still more or less 50/50 when he tries to decide direction at the trail junctions, but it's all about the other kids and friends. Alex is 5 and not that interested so far.

Right on, that's great. Hope you guys can make it back to NA sometime!
