If you turn right and head north at the junction just before your 9km Mark, you can then turn east further up where it is drier.

Ah, did you mean turn left? Get what you mean though.

I followed your route with Jon from a while back. They have clear felled a big chunk of it, which is a shame.

I meant left. I got the turn wrong with Jon, as I had not done the route for a while. Pity about the clear fell.
