Good on ya- looks tough to do right. You’ll be strong as a bull by the end.

It will definitely be tough to place well. 21 weeks is a long time to be a bit faster every week. I’ll try to find a low wind day each week. I’m going to start by trying to increase weekly speed by about 0.1 km/hr.

So tempting to sandbag and go easy the first time. Not sure I could resist.

Well, the points awards are designed to favour sandbagging. They could almost call it the Cruz Sandbaggers Challenge.

I will start with a solid training effort, about the effort on my first 20km today (Sunday) on the Giro. About midway, I’ll switch to a faster bike with one water instead of two and fewer tools. I’ll finish on the Strada, unless I break down and order a light weight Raven/Basso/such like.

Do they still make the Pelso Brevet? That looks fast!

Yes, the Brevet is available. I agree that it should be fast, but I think the high bottom bracket gives it similar limitations in traffic to what I have with my old Bacchetta Strada.

I will try one and a Freestyle when Florida becomes safe to visit.

Freestyle looks impressive too, if a bit heavier.

The weight is the main reason I didn’t just order one. I would like to be around 20 pounds and John indicated the best he can do with the Freestyle is closer to 25.
