What did you eat? I struggled to eat and what I did was too low in sugars. I drank 2.25 litres, which was sufficient.
3 bananas, 3 nutri-grain bars and 3 gels. I only start fuelling after 1 hour and have something each 30 minutes in the order or 1 banana, 1 bar and 1 gel then repeat.
Fuelling is a personal thing and you have to experiment or suffer eternally.
Many thanks, the same foods that have worked in past for me. Not had more than a couple gels ever, but had no adverse reaction to them. I like the idea of rotating.
