I find it amazing that you can ride indoors for so long (at one time). My brain would explode doing this, so I have never pulled off a long spin session. So your post raised the question, what does a 4-h spin do to your mind?

LOL, so I've done up to 6 hours on a smart trainer with Zwift, which engages your brain somewhat. And it was "with" a group, which also helps the mental aspect. But, I did do a little over 5 hours on a "dumb" trainer last year. That was rough. I watched movies. Lots of movies. I figure a lot of AR is mental, so what better way to train the brain, right?

You make a good point at the end. I only get it in rogaines but the drudge hours when you are willing your trudging self on. I have never rode a trainer in a group; maybe I could go longer this way. The treadmills at the Y were upgraded recently, so I can watch youtube orienteering while running. It definitely helps (but I wouldn't get hours from it).
