Lucky we were out of town when the anarchy started. Dunlop, the new Minneapolis.

I note the offender resided in Charnwood. Surprising turn of events.

This thread must have tempted fate.

Every 6-12 months I have a run in with a dog and its owner around the local burbs, just to remind me that our area is still a bubbling cauldron of bogans.

So just after my previous post I went out for my run. I was on the bike path doing a surge when I saw a middle aged guy walking what looked like a Doberman crossed with a Tyrannosaurus Rex coming the other way. As I went around them the dog leapt up on it's hind legs and nipped my hip. I don't think he bit me but it hurt.

I stopped and had a shouting match with the owner. After a few seconds I took off. Had no way of taking any details short of mugging him for his wallet and there was no one else around. Strangely after having his nip, the dog was calmer that the owner. Perhaps he was being playful or was startled but if he had jumped on a kid like that he would have knocked them over. I was seething.

After I got home my hip was bleeding in two places (under my running shorts) - looks like claws rather than a bite. Decent bruise too.

The attack did remind me of one sort of funny incident a few years ago. A girl, probably 12 or 13 walking her little yappy dog off a leash as I ran past just around the corner from our house. The dog started running around my ankles almost tripping me up and I threatened to kick it. In response the young "lady" called me a effing c$#@. Several times.

Ahhh Dunlop.
