Have you considered any of the virtual challenges? Run Across Tennessee 1000K, Colorado Trail Challenge (486 miles), monthly mileage challenge (100 miles), etc. Not exactly the same, of course, but a small motivation / goal. And you have to pay an entry fee, just like a real race. ;-)

No, I can do that with Strava segments for "free". Which is what I've started doing. What I like about that is I can look at what the locals have been putting in and gauge where I'm at before another "big" local race comes up.....which will probably be next year. But that's another option...maybe better? Thanks Brooke I'll look.

I like the idea. When a race your want to run doesn't exist, just make one for yourself.

I'm chasing an occasional strava segment as well. Also decided to try to bike up a couple of mountains. It's a good time to pick an out of the ordinary but fun challenge, particularly something we might normally avoid because we get locked into our usual routines.
