Will be interested to see what the map looks like. The area is one big hill (which I've picked out as a potential spot for 2028 eclipse-watching), surrounded by flat mulga country where visibility won't be great - hard to pinpoint anything.

Carolyn, that is exciting - in SA we have a rogaine on the same weekend though (something that SARA's Facebook page administrators don't seem to realise since they are cheerfully promoting all the info from NSWRA about Gundabooka).

About LDIII, I'd thought of using the week's leave originally taken for now-cancelled Aust Champs to go see the in-laws in Sydney, since I won't have seen niece & nephew (aged 17 & 15) for a year by then, and going on to Newcastle for a few days' orienteering had its appeal. But now my sister is sounding keen on the Flinders Ranges events, and if she comes down with her family I wouldn't want to miss out on seeing nieces aged 3 & 5!

As anticipated: long time nothing.... now everything on and all at the same time. And I'd stay to see Sus et al too!

Go family, we have missed seeing family and friends in Europe so don't miss out as you don't know what the future brings. There will always be orienteering events.

LOST Richard - will you stop being sensible! Now I've got to rethink as there is apparently a SL weekend the same weekend as the Rogaine at Bourke. That isn't quite the issue - it is also a special person's birthday so I can do SL+ birthday OR Bourke Rogaine

Jenny's choice isn't between events or family though; it's orienteering and family in NSW or rogaine and different family in SA.

I'm grateful not to have family stranded on the other side of the world - and at least it is seeming more probable that we may get to Darwin in August (although flight schedules are unlikely to match the bookings which were made pre-pandemic).
