That looks like a lot of fun. I'm tempted to join in but it feels like just adding another thing to the long list of "cool things to do that I don't do because I'm paralyzed by having lots of cool things to do."

Haha, I know what you mean. Do I take a virtual guided tour of the Louvre this weekend? Or learn Spanish online? Bake a cake? Attend a BLM protest and keep a safe distance? The usual things aren't happening but so there are still so many options.

There is some fun in thinking up a creative way to "earn my badge" for a run. I'm not always great about getting out the door these days. You're already being creative by running different streets. (There is also a CMTR challenge to do a run that includes a new road you've never run on.) The longest minimum run (or hike) time in the challenge is 60 minutes so it's very do-able. There are no distance targets. Maybe you could sign up Lukas instead of yourself! It's not as if you have to earn all 30 badges.

ok I signed up. Melissa told me it was a good idea.

Yay! There's no need to do it all but it's a change of pace - and maybe Lukas will enjoy sharing your badges for the outings where he goes along. The box bike would be perfect for the Cross Training badge.

Which leads me to my first question - there are a couple of badges I could claim from this past 10 days (new trail, cross-training, podcast...). I did them within the challenge time period but without intentionally going for the badge because I didn't know I was going to do it! I am probably overthinking this.

Maybe the answer is buried in the website somewhere? I didn't think about doing it (I haven't been running much anyway) but I don't think there would be anything wrong in doing it. The event is very casual and nobody's going to check. Unlike the Limitless Vertical Challenge where someone looked at your Strava, this Scavenger Hunt is just about having some summer fun. I suppose it might be more fun to approach future runs with the challenge in mind. Maybe you could wait until later in the summer to see if you're running out of time and need to use the runs you did last week. When you fill out the form to say you've completed a badge, I don't remember it asking for a date.

Update: Yes, it asks for a date. So you could see if it works. I'm guessing the only error check would be to stop you from submitting two challenges for the same date - and they may not even have implemented that.

All three are easy for me to nab any time so I've decided that I'll hold on to them just in case.
