... and your great pics from AP.
Need to get some pointers from you. The few pics I do take are always horrible.. probably why I take so few and never post them.
My “lockdown” pics are quite bad for the most part ;-(

I was so happy when I saw your log had updated on my AP home page! :) I've missed you. I hope you'll stick around after the lockdown. It's nice to chat with friends, especially these days.

My best pointer on photography is to buy an iPhone 11 Pro or some other good phone that is somewhat waterproof and has a great camera with different zoom levels. I have several SLRs and other really good cameras but they sit idle most of the time because the iPhone is almost always with me. The classic piece of advice on photography is, "F11 and be there", i.e. don't worry too much about the details. Just go places where there are great photos to be taken.

I find when we're doing outdoor activities, it's rare that quick snapshots work out to be my best photos. I try to keep the camera handy in case I notice a great shot that I can take quickly but more often, I have to put some thought into it, e.g. stop and go back a few steps or ask the other person to "do that again". I'm sure Will would really enjoy that, lol!

If he sees me trying to take a pic with him in it, he usually manages to make it unusable somehow ;-)

I will vouch that Bash's good pics are no accident. I tend to take quick shots. Bash set up shots, takes multiples, often has me or another willing subject (victim?) go back a few times, then does work on them at home before posting.

Yeah, it's mostly fake. :D
