...sounds like a much better find than any geocache. That's fascinating. Sometimes AR gives you a different adventure from what you're expecting.
Yeah. So nice and obviously wanting someone to talk to. At 92 I’m sure his social circle has been constricted significantly by the virus.
As you probably know, the Lockdown co-RD, Abby Perkiss, is a historian. You might get bonus points on the race if you share this story with her!
Sounds like this gave you an excuse for an active week, some of which was fun. :)
Now that the racing is over, how have you guys been doing? I suppose the moving business slowed down for a while?
I’ve been slowed down (‘semi-retired’) since January. Had great plans for training and maybe some more racing and definitely some travel with Syd when her school was over.... for some reason none of that happened ;-)
Probably got a couple hundred hours into basement Reno’s though (turns out I know how to do brickwork, plumbing, electrical etc) and a new deck at the cottage! Although Will did a half of the deck and ‘all’ of the lumber hauling across the lake!
Semi-retired - cool! How does that work? Still commuting some of the time?
‘Bent’s best friend from dental school sold his practice and semi-retired in December - like selling a house at the peak of the market. We’re not jealous... #$%&!!
Currently not working (aside from for Suzi doing Reno’s) ... haven’t decided what (or if) I’m going to do. I’ll do something, but I won’t do that crazy commute again and I will have much more flexibility than I’ve had in the past. Likely work for myself or consult/contract basis.
YaHOOOOO!!! Congratulations, sir. :)
Thanks! Wish there were more events to take advantage of right now. Fairly healthy and very flexible schedule... don’t think I’ve ever had that combo before :-)
Very cool re: Ken and the semi-retirement! Thanks for sharing and congratulations!
