My parents just painted the door on their gray house yellow. Is that a thing?
I don't know if it is or not. Maybe I just like the combination and notice it when I see it?
But the yard of corn! That's weird.
My neighbors many years ago in Bethesda tried to grow corn a few years running. Something always killed it. Tiny plot of land, restaurant worker renting the tiny house.
The yard of corn is great. Front yards are dumb and a waste of space the way they are usually (not) used. Growing something in one is much better.
We're growing tomatoes in big pots on our front walk. Does that count?
We saw two more houses with yellow doors and gray paint today. I'm thinking it is some sort of secret society or signal to invading space aliens.
I wonder how much their (corn) subsidy runs?
We have no grass at all in our backyard, and a pretty small front yard. I wish it was smaller or had ground cover instead of grass.
I do wonder how the yard of corn looks in the winter?
Corn is in the eye of the beholder if the beholder gets too close, so who is to say? To me, fields of unharvested corn in the winter have always exhibited a certain kind of stark beauty.
