When Sierra Club canceled my July (right now!) backpack in the Rockies, it sucked all incentive out of hard training -- and July weather here only reinforces that.
I did get to Babler today, some off trail. For much of the park, the woods are still very passable (except for spider webs!) but the visibility is very low (mostly due to pawpaw saplings).
Memories: That reminded me of the contrast in O' difficulty between our annual September Back to the Woods meet in Babler vs your January meet and the Turkey O's. While hanging tapes for an October A-meet, I remember that my Yellow course seemed way too difficult in September but then nice Yellow-easy once the leaves came down.
