Looking at the map I'm struggling to see how anything other than fairly straight could be a good option on #1 (assuming the yellow is fast, which it normally would be at this time of year), given how high the control was. Looks like an excellent race though - and definitely a step up for Paul.
Yes definitely good to see Paul running so well :) Straightish was good - looks like others either went too straight and climbed steeper than necessary or not straight enough and got caught on the steep slope later on.

I ran a similar route to Marty but was thinking a straightish left route below the rocks with a gradual climb up to the saddle might be quite fast but it appears no-one ran it.
Yeah probably would be ok too - although isn't any straighter and involves going over the ridge so has a tad more climb.
