Yes, I persevered. Looking at my route on RG, I did not make many errors, just couldn't get there. Especially funny - watching my red dot attempt unsuccessfully to climb up the embankment on the way to #4. Counted "take-a-knees" at 17.
Embankment to 4 = the mapped embankment scared me enough that I headed up the hill earlier just before it got really steep.
At 5 Dave U was down by the road and decided he wasn't going to make it up, so he headed back in from there.
I can't believe Petr went up over the spur to #6 after being on that hillside earlier. As it was I slipped on rocks descending into #3 and decided sidehilling to 4 was silly.
I saw your (smart) route to #4. NIce. I also saw Dave as he walked back in. Petr almost ALWAYS goes straight through the woods. He prefers it. Likely cost him a little. The Green Course looked almost impossible to me.
