Here is the latest:

Billygoat:
As noted in a related thread, we'll be doing this as a DIY Goat on the Mountain Lakes Map (North Salem, NY), with flags in the woods by the last weekend of August and staying out for a good number of weeks.

This won't count as an official Billygoat, but as much as possible we'll do it in the spirit of the BG. More details soon.

Niels and Geof C have visited Mountain Lakes since last week's tropical storm, and report that there is damage, but overall ithe area came through okay. Niels indicated that he will revise his course design (Again! Thanks Niels!) to avoid the areas with storm damage.

Corn Maze Champs:
Sadly, we have to cancel this. We had hoped to have a spread-out CM Champs over the Labor Day weekend, but the logistics didn't work out.

We'll post updates as the details of the DIY Goat are finalized.

I love how this is posted under Rogaine Ireland. What is the deeper message? Must not overthink... Very long legs with trans-Atlantic route choice?

(Thanks to all involved for putting this on.)

I already purchased my transatlantic time travel flights ; )

Thanks for putting it together. I'm excited to see feet's time and then set out to beat it.

Niels nad Geof, could you send me or Craig Weber storm damage updates, This way we can update the existing map file, or at least, we will know what to visit to update the map.
Keep the updates to this continent :) (in a spirit of this thread) .

I'll try to get Billygoat refunds to everyone who registered either today or at the latest, by tomorrow. Only BG refunds, though, can't help with Rogaine Ireland refunds : -)

RickD:
I've issued Billygoat refunds for everyone who registered. Well, everyone whose registration fee wasn't $0, anyway, which was about half. Refunds should show up in your PayPal account. Let me know if I overlooked anyone.

Balter, Generally speaking, the storm damage at Mountain Lakes is not too bad. Yes, there are tree falls throughout the woods, but mostly single trees. The NE section seems to have been hit somewhat worse than the rest of the park. I will send you the latest version of the OCAD map file.

As we now have a DIY Goat at Mt Lakes (and for Covid reasons) the regular event scheduled for Mt Lakes is cancelled.

That looks like an amazing maze. Sad we are missing out.

Part of the decision process was actually that the maze did not look like fertile ground for course setting. Too many bottlenecks.

Each of the letters has only 1 or 2 access points.
The "O" has 3, but the only route to the "V" is through it.

Thanks for rolling with the times and creating a goat course. Will maps be available soon? We're heading to CT on Friday and plan on doing the course on Sunday.

The 2020 DIY Goat is up and running.

Control flags are out in the woods and three courses are available:
- The DIY Goat 10.7km 400m climb
- The Kid 6.0km 220m climb
- Brown course 3.4km 105m climb

All courses print to letter size paper. DIY Goat is available in both 1:10,000 and 7,500 scale, the other two courses in 7,500 scale.

Skipped Control: As per Billygoat traditions, on the DIY Goat and the Kid courses you may skip one and only one control. This can be any control. You may skip the first control, the last control, or any other control. But only one. Choose wisely.
