Great running and biking - big numbers
Thanks guys! Sadly I'm going to abandon the attempt for this week - my running obsession is hindering other adult responsibilities!
When you say ‘adult’ you mean...?
Sex, drugs, rock n roll... not necessarily in that order.
Gardening, house work, volunteer activities, my actual job. The running is not interfering with beer drinking.
You might be a contestant in the REAL TRUE 100/100.
100 miles and 100 beers.
It's still on my bucket list and I WILL do it yet!
I've researched different strategies.
That is obscene!! Definitely not a challenge for me - but I support anyone I know that wants to take it on!
I am solid for 100 oz of beer per week though.
Jarrow... that's the easy part.
There are MANY threads on this challenge. Here's just one short one discussing strategy.

Think I have already done this a few times.
^ haha!
But, you gotta document!
Lesli... what you training for? Whatever it is, you're READY!
Maybe Last Runner Standing? Maybe a 24-hr in Moab? Maybe just 2021?
Sometimes it's just fun to run A LOT, especially in your 30s (and into your 40s).
Foots....
I'm telling you, Hokas have enabled me to run again after years of plantar fasciitis. Others have had similar results.
Foots seem to be my most common threat of injury
But what did Jess mean by “Foots....”?
It was simply an ungrammatical feet comment. Jeez.
Trying to make you a Hoka sale.
She’s too young for Hokas.
Oh, no! What will you wear when you’re 60?
They'll come up with something
And meanwhile, the miles continue to pile up! (As do the comments in this thread)
Longest thread on Muu Muu's log? 100+
We still have a way to go. This thread is was cleaner than that one.
I give Muu two more days to go low here.
No, he has matured greatly since then.
Ummm... did you not notice that he offered to "play with (my) moobs" just last week?
That said, I WANNA RUN 100 MILE WEEKS TOO!
I remember 100 mile weeks...
Good run today.
I WANNA RUN 20 MILERS TOO!
Me, too! But it would be best if we both slowly built back up to 20 milers.
Start building up? A mile a week?
I might try a 10 miler on Sunday and maybe build from there, a mile a week.
Couldn’t run, so walked instead. Sorry.
That's OK! Think it is about time for me to take a break - not running is hard.
I'm worried that you are going to get fat and out of shape at this rate :)
I'm seriously having a hard time consuming less
Unbowed, unbent, unbroken
Oh come on you guys... I watched one episode of that and have no idea what you're talking about.
Sounds like you have some work ahead of you.
Or listen if you have more time for that?
I think the library has them on cd, Jess. You could listen on your trips up and down the shore. You’d like it: lots of sex and violence.
I watched one episode a couple years ago and they launched into some pretty wild sex and violence right away. It kinda turned me off to the show. Getting old and prudish I guess.
The books are slightly less raunchy than HBO
Are we still waiting for book #8?
Not holding my breath - hopefully he is taking advantage of Quarantime.
Lesli... what time do you plan on doing Hawk's Ridge, etc.? I'd tag along if the timing is right...and if you want company.
Yeah....I'm probably not going anywhere if I don't have to.
Three races in one day! Uffda
Likely the last chance to get them in before the deadline!
I was so glad to do the NMTC series. So many hills...
Funner with people, but I was glad to do it as well.
Muu is trying to bump up the number of comments on this thread so it’s longer than his record-setting thread

I get blanks and doubles? How sweet!
Ha ha... oops. You know how when you're in sketchy wifi areas and you just keep clicking "send" ?
Leslie, how's your injury? (as Dan Conway would say). Is is still "active"?
Slowly but surely improving - maybe I'll 'end' it soon, really only sucks when driving.
I'm in serious training for the 100/100 out here in the mountains. Working on the beer end of things mostly.
Refresh my memory as to what the injury is, please.
Central Serous Retinopathy - there is some fluid stuck over one of my retinas and it makes my vision blurry. Supposedly caused by elevated blood cortisol levels.
Ooooh. What can they do about it?
Here in Salida, last summer, I had an eye issue. Posterior vitreous detachment. Not too serious though.
anything with 'detachment' sounds scary. Generally nothing is done with CSR - it just goes away after a few months. If they are concerned with retinal damage they can laser wherever the fluid comes from shut.
Indeed - fingers crossed there are no more recurrences!
He makes me look like a slacker
I'm sorry, I didn't see what Rudy did.
He received the COGGS (I think) annual award for volunteer of the year, for trail maintenance and building.
Your training is really piling up!
gotta get it in while I can! And winter would be terrible if I didn't get some outdoors time.
Skiing, running, biking, hiking...
...and yoga!
(Who's going to be comment #100?)
Seems like I would be appropriate for that
Skiing...maybe there'll be enough snow for me to handle that soon.
And what nice snow it is!
Back to 100/100 topic - 10 100 mile weeks in 2020 - I want to try more this year, but will it mess with my vision?!?!?! sounds like a good experiment!
Keep us posted. I hope your vision does not suffer.
Do you see that you are in sixth place currently is training volume on attackpoint?
I might have a problem...
I think you may be the first attackpointer to break 7:00 this year!
That is some great training time!
Only 47:00 of training today? You okay?! :)
I gotta take it easy once in a while! Might even try 0 for Monday...
Zero on Monday... which, apparently, you can't :)
I'm actually travelling next week so I talked myself into delaying rest :)
Texas? Oklahoma?
Be careful down there.
MI and IL - no summer in winter for me in the near future
I miss running while traveling. I know it can be awkward, but it’s a great way to explore the world.
Nice run today! Not sure I'll ever see a 7:00 mile again :)
I for one wouldn't surprised to see you hit a 6-something!
Jess, we will break 7 minutes for the mile in 2021.
No one has posted here since February 13th? Inconceivable!
(inviting Princess Bride quotes)
Aaaaaas Youuuuu Wiiiiiiiiish
Life is pain. Anyone who says different is trying to sell you something.
I never said I’d want to build a summer home here, but the trees are quite lovely.
Haha! That’s correct. Good research.
That’ll teach me to work from memory.
To lave would mean “to wash” I guess.
Yay!
Then, I had to scroll back to see what the point of this thread originally was :)
Craziness, the point is craziness
