As if the doc has any idea of what normal exercise is at Ratlum Mountain. :-)
He's an interesting fellow. He and the anesthesiologist are cycling buddies, quite familiar with Ratlum and the dreaded Devil's Elbow. I had a nice chat with them about it while I was still awake.
OK, where did you pick up your Swedish?
Duolingo. It’s almost rudimentary, but a few steps less than that.
Any danger of mixing it up with your Italian? Of course, many Swedes are probably also fluent in Italian....
It's actually kind of funny, Charlie speaks Swedish with an Italian accent.
Swedish is not much like Italian. If I were trying to work on French I could lapse into Italian.
Anyway, I only wrote the sentence in Swedish for Swampfox’s benefit, if he is paying attention now.
It's definitely possible to lapse into a foreign language higher up the comfort scale, even if not related. In Norway I would often lapse into Norwegian when trying to speak to someone in Spanish.
Italian is way higher up my comfort scale than anything else (native language excluded).
