Discussion: Fletcher

I was watching episode 3 last night and kept wondering who the fourth member of that team was since they never talked to him and rarely showed him.

I'm hoping we see more of his team. We've only watched the first 3.

Fletcher would be good to have on a team. He's strong and even keeled. The first short adventure race I did was with Fletcher and Sandy B. I think Fletcher talked us in to it. Maybe 6 hours and miserably hot, but still fun.

Fletcher moved out of Lawrence and to Utah a few years ago. We miss having him around here.

We're through Episode #4, and our running joke has been, "Where's Fletcher?", because aside from that one little bit of Episode #3, he's humorously cropped out of pretty much everything. (He did have an audible line, off-camera, in Episode #2: "Fletch, is your bike ready?", followed by an off-screen "Yup!")

The best crop-out we've seen so far comes in Episode #4, when one of the sisters is talking on the bamboo boat. Fletcher is in the back, but he's literally 100% covered in clothes, with some sort of blue face covering. It's as if the producers were like, "Hey Fletcher, we're going to ask your boatmate some questions, can you just blur out your identity for a few minutes?"

Knowing Fletcher, he's probably carrying 35-40 percent of the team's gear and towing someone on the mountain bikes whenever they are off camera.

Don't give away any spoilers. Mary and I have a lot left to watch.
