Is your new frame lighter as well? Since the last race in the ACT MTBO series I have gone tubeless and installed a smaller front sprocket and cleaned the bike - so looking forward to improved performance.

Its an old frame - 15 years? Basically retired the bike in 2014, but kept it as a backup.

Anna Sheldon once won an MTBO WOC medal on a $350 bike.

Probably wouldn't be able to replicate that feat in current times (not just because there is no WOC).

So the only weight saving for Sunday is one less link in the chain!

It’s my dad’s old bike - and he bought it second hand in about 2006. As well as a chain link, it has also shaved off a front derailleur and one chainring - super light!
