Looks like there would have been some nice opportunities to extend the paddle.

yeah, I saw that too. I believe the "lake" to the north has vegetation which makes paddling difficult.

I would have been real impressed if you got into the second one to the North. Frogger across the highway with the boat.

not having the luxury of vetting the course I had to keep it simple. as it turned out, we had to remove cp10 due to trespassing signs. the reservoir was a complete lock out. and we had reports of cp11 also having posted signs. and lastly we had a guy give one of the teams some grief about trespassing...at 7:30 at night.

I liked the in route vetting.
"Oh, I don't like that point let's take it out."
"Getting that point means more climbing let's move it."

the awkward moment was having to text the two other teams with little to no cell signal. It was fun though. I think we all agreed that it had moments of a true race course.
