This is about the time we start sledging for the OWA champs but it's a limited 21 field with not much on offer.
For the sprint champs, I've been unbeatable all year but have to back up from an ultra-marathon so it's wide open. Likely contender for top spot is Sten with Liam winning the finish split. Hadrien and Craig to battle out the bottom rung.
Veronika likes her trophy collection so I'd back her for the W title with Ceri and Rachel to take the minor placings though in what order?
The long is where the action is. I feel that Veronika will again be too strong in the bush but Karen has joined the party to mix things up for Rachel and Ceri.
The M is a one horse field with Craig the unbackable favourite so the interest lies in whoever of Sten, Hadrien and tRicky will not make the podium. It's down to who makes the fewest (or shortest time losses in) errors.
I’m a bit sad to be all alone in M35, but not old enough for 45’s and have run for more than 30 minutes once in living memory, so thought I might enjoy not dyng.
The fact that the second to last time you did it was in March doesn't give me a lot of hope for your memory!
I see Craig doesn't get to sweep through the M21 field this year as he's been able to the past couple (though I held him off last year).
I considered joining you in M35, Fletch, but I decided I'd rather die.
Anyone know why the start list for the sprint champs is so whack? Event info says 1min intervals but they're all a minimum of 4mins and in most cases 8-10mins. I know we're concerned about Covid...
Only six runners in M21 but I'll be well and truly finished before the last runner starts and I'm only second off! M10 is worse - six starters spread over 40mins.
Classes on the same course seem to be interleaved so the busier courses are actually at a 2 minute interval. Course 1 is at a 4min interval with Pat and Adam filling in the gaps. I thought there was a rule saying classes shouldn't be interleaved so it might get changed.
Well this thread is boring so I'll just say there'll be no M35 winners this year.
Well my initial predictions were woefully inaccurate with my pick for M21 failing to turn up and Craig DNFing. Even worse for W21 with Ceri being the controller so I'm not sure how I managed to pick her for a place and Veronika and Rachel were not in the order I predicted. At least Liam won the finish split.
I did at manage to predict the 35s field with none of the three people registering across either M or W finishing the course (I think two of them might still be out there). Probably should have also backed Andre for the DNS while I was about it.
