I’m planning to watch too. Since we had to buy a year of Flobikes, we might as well use it!

We watched it and were interested at how different the show looks compared to the Tour de France. Something about the way it's filmed made us feel more like we were right in the biking action, which was cool. But aside from the early part of the race, we missed the sweeping scenery shots - the armchair tourist stuff. Maybe it was because of the weather but we didn't get a good idea of what the Etna area is like because we spent most of our time looking at pavement that eventually had some lava beside it. Maybe on a sunny day they show more? We'll definitely watch another stage or two but not the whole thing this year.

haha! it was funny to see the wide paved approach to Etna for us too - so different from our trail race up there! agreed, scenery shots not near as good as TdF...but I am loving Declan Quigley (Irish guy) & Matt Stephens (Brit guy) as commentators! Very funny and excitable guys...and the accents make us really feeling like we are having a couch travel experience! :)

Agreed, I like the commentators. We really liked Simon Gerrans at the TdF and wish he could continue as commentator in future. He had all kinds of interesting info from his experience as a rider.

It looks like the Giro just has a smaller budget for helicopters. They don’t have a spare flying around doing scenery shots, just enough to film the race.
I’d think they could use some drones for scenery in future.
