Something similar at the East end of Wildflower Drive
Yes, more obvious and more widespread.
That is an exceptional terrain!
I want to know where the sand dunes were found...
I think the nearest sand dune are around Hattah.
Was meaning the dunes somewhere in the vicinity of the Wimmera River :)
A few adjacent to the river in Wail Forest. Pretty flat to the west of the river. They start properly popping up in Wyperfield around Outlet Creek. Did a rogaine style race in the Hattah area quite some years ago. Even more there. Its on the possible list, though I suspect access might have tightened up in the meantime.
I thought some of the country around the main campground in Wyperfeld had potential, if there was enough that was runnable enough, but they're still big dunes without a lot of complexity to them. Wail got a guernsey on Alex Tarr's late 1990s survey of potential unmapped areas in Victoria; as I recall the biggest negative was lack of all-weather road access.
I have explored Wail. It deteriorates quickly as you get further from the river.
