It certainly reminded me of that fine moment at French Creek.

Yikes! Any idea how it got into the house, on that level?

And how did you get rid of it?

Eastern hognose?

Milk snake. It didn’t reveal its path of entry, but they are quite active. Once in I’m sure they could go anywhere. Pretty lucky I found him before he found his way into someplace I’d rather not have him.

I would have just picked him up and carried him outside, but Zack got a little more elaborate, threw a box over him and slid a cutting board underneath, then dragged it outside.

I would have picked him up too. :-) First guess was milk snake but then I got looking at images on Google and hognose has patterning that looks similar.

Spiders, on the other hand, gross me out.

Yikes, for me to pick anything up, it has to have four legs and fur! Spider almost qualify, snakes, especiall a long one like this, definitely NOT! Shivers.......

For years, I've thought having a pet tarantula would be most interesting but haven't put words into action. Milk snakes, rat snakes and garter snakes were "pets" as a youngster. The only critters to bite me were mice, wild ones that we amused ourselves with some winters past.

This was a pretty snake. He would have made a nice pet.

Nice. That is quite a substantial snake. I'd rather not have that one in the house.
