That's why we have elected officials. CA "democracy" is dumb.
Huh? What could possibly be wrong with a system that allows private companies to spend $200 million trying to convince voters to approve a measure that enshrines contractors "rights" and requires a 7/8ths majority to overturn it in future? Seems perfectly reasonable, no?
And, of course, the elected officials and policy wonks who are paid to think about the adverse consequences of legislation couldn''t possibly be making better decisions than the folks who are getting fliers in the mailboxes at home...
Don’t forget the many text messages (and phone calls) saying they are gig workers who really like the flexibility and really want it to pass.
