I don't know the difference between the edible chestnuts and the poisonous ones so I've never picked them from the wild. Ross did buy some from the store over the weekend and we will roast them this week. Delicious!

Torino:
Usually, the horse chestnuts grow in our latitude, their nut is shiny and more round, perfect for making crafts. However the real chestnuts (I believe) only grow in warmer climates such in the Ticino in Switzerland The forest for orienteering there ( like at EOC18) are mostly of real chestnuts. Those nuts are more flattish and not a shiny brown.
