Great course yesterday. Had me thinking on every leg, especially the long 7-8 where I just couldn't make up my mind which way to go. Weirdly I only saw one route from 4-5 but Michael Reed went a completely different way and we were only 9 sec apart (on a 17 min leg!)

Good mix of early single track then long, route choice legs then back into the technical stuff at the end. Very enjoyable.

Thanks Ricky. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was the kind of course that would have gotten to me! Funny about 4-5, to me there is only 1 way to go, but that's the thing with the long legs, it gives anyone a chance to make it suit their strengths.

I still looked at a second option from 4-5 after crossing the main watercourse (where Fedor blew his tyre up), heading north rather than south (towards #7) as I did to turn up the NW track. Didn't see Michael's option at all until he pointed it out afterwards.

I definitely considered going straight through the middle from 7-8 but wrote it off after deciding I didn't want to ride back along the grass track and it seemed to have more numerous small hills to go over rather than two bigger ones, plus a lot more navigation involved.
