I thought they'd stopped giving points during the pandemic. We certainly shouldn't be getting any for this event given that the courses were the same as an event in February.
More generally I completely agree that you should get more points for 2nd place in the British Champs than your local regional event. I've always argued for a weighting factor to try and ensure this happens but consistently get shouted down by the statisticians.
Having said that, your result was very respectable and deserving of a decent allocation of ranking points.

Oh I'm not sure, I clicked on the ‘BOF results’ link & it has ranking points, but maybe they’re not counting them at the moment? Not that I pay any attention to the rankings, I just find them amusing. Like coming 9th (3rd W21) on a YHOA night league last year when I got pretty lost gets the same points as 2nd at the British Sprint Champs ?! All fun either way :-)
