On Monday night, I just about hit "reserve" on some accommodations so I could ski and snowshoe and fat bike (on snow) for a long weekend. I instead decided to check out some other lodging options Tuesday evening, but during the day, that kind of travel was ruled out. Hope you get to keep skiing!

I can't believe how lucky we've been. I feel kind of guilty actually. Highlands gets to stay open because xc ski trails are allowed to be open. But everyone who comes has to drive - almost everyone has to drive at least 20 minutes, and many drive an hour or 2. I'm pretty sure that's not what the premier means by "essential" travel - but apparently it falls under "exercise". If they don't want people to travel to such places to exercise then they need to close them. This certainly does not seem like a "state-of-emergency" and people are most certainly not all staying home. There were several from Toronto, Caledon-Orangeville skiing in Duntroon today. But the way the new restrictions read, they're not breaking the rules - only if they stay overnight?

It's no wonder people are so confused. As one friend put it, "Stay at home, except for almost everything." You can only leave your house for essential reasons but almost every business is allowed to offer curbside pickup, no matter what they sell.

Living in SW Ontario and driving 2, 6 or 8 hours to get to a specific grocery store because it is near a trail system one wants to jog/bike/ski probably isn't within the spirit of the regulations.

There are a lot of things to be grateful for, and the ability to start exercising and get fresh air right out our backdoor is one of them, even if it is in town.

The glow of the greenhouse lights almost makes up for the missing streetlights lol.

Agreed, Coach LD has a particularly nice back yard but we can all have fun outdoors in our own back yards!

As we did in the spring. I'm just very grateful there's snow in my backyard now.
