I went to a two week field camp near there as a requirement for the KU geography department grad program. It’s a really interesting area. But one thing that sticks in my mind was the necessity of checking your boots before putting your foot in in case a scorpion had taken up residence.
Also, going up the very steep mesa in the back of a pickup. Oh, and cuttin’ and brandin’.

Oh, I did, to be sure, I just didn't recognize the name of the town. When I Googled the names of nearby towns to Guymon and the name of the institution popped up, that rang the bell.
