That's a bit unfortunate. I'm not brave enough to parkrun yet - I don't think I'd crack 40 minutes, and I'd suffer for it afterwards.

Uncle JiM:

I'm amazed that with that quite respectable time Prue there weren't more people around. I've been to maybe 20 different parkruns with populations of 15-700 and with my times ranging from 33-43 (depending on hills) and usually could at least glimpse people at some stages. Louise - you will be fine!!! My greatest fear the first time was being "last" which I wasn't. parkrun has a suggested window of 60 mins and there is a tail walker so you are never last. After a while when I ventured to other parkrun venues I usually walked or occasionally jogged. Secret - that way when i returned I'd get a pb! You have the ability to "progress" for 5km so go for it.

I did see runners on their return journey, and there were a couple of walkers well behind me, but no slow runners like me.
When l returned, they said 'Never mind, next week there will be more walk/jog pepple like you', to which l replied 'What do you mean? I ran the whole way!'. I just have a very slow run, sadly.

Jim, good idea. I haven't done that one yet, so 39 minutes will be a PB!
