What meds and dose? My arrthymia medication, diltiazem, is also for blood pressure, and indeed, my BP has been 90s over 60s since starting it.

losartan 25mg, which she described as a low dose. In the last few years my BP has usually been relatively low, 115-120/75 or thereabouts. I started checking it a few weeks ago and recording it every day and it has been steadily quite a bit higher, like 140+/85 or so. Not sure how long it takes the meds to show an effect, and certainly no idea why it is suddenly higher.

Winter diet? During the summer we're having much more fresh vegetables and fruits...which contain little salt. During the winter, a higher proportion of stews, meats, gravies, and sauces....all of which are salted.

Age - not unusual or a worry for BP to creep up some with oldness. Mine has done a similar climb, at least the high number. Low number still in the 60s.

It's the bottom (diastolic) number that matters more, or so I've been told. My blood pressure bounces around some depending on dehydration, salt intake, or time of day.

Not if you don't add it. I'm on Lisinopril and have found a number of salt-free and low salt alternative foods. I miss cheese, though... (still eat it sometimes, but not nearly as often as I used to)

Gravies and sauces - not so much. I would say that my salt intake is probably a fair amount less than the average person. Not much in the way of processed foods, for example. However, I don't pay much if any attention to how much salt I do take in, and haven't taken any steps to curtail it . Maybe I should.
