What kind of shoe was that a ways back that kept coming untied? I was in the woods yesterday and the inov 8 talon 212 came untied twice, and it was double knotted...never happened with any other shoe.

Anything with a round lace right?

I think it is a function of the fiber used to make the lace. Most synthetics like nylon, have a 'memory' and want to straighten out. So as you run, those fibers, like 1000 living snakes, slowly. uncoil, loosen, and untie.

Go with cotton laces. Better for the environment too.

yeah, I already figured changing laces was the fix. These are narrower and harder than all the other laces in my collection.

I always have to tape my laces after tying them for orienteering.

I never tape my laces. I use a knot that J-J taught me more than 20 years ago. Very secure, comes out easily when you want it to.

I have seen one way that orienteers use, I wonder if it’s the same one.
