Wow, there's a name from the past, and a welcome one to hear. I had no idea he was in your area.

Woot, woot - I've been prodding him gently over the past few years to dive back into O - think his name popped up on Strava.

Be great to have him on board.

We remember Don Tall, can't recall Don's wife's name. Oh, maybe Susan. I think Steve has a sister. Don had a roll in WOC '93. The Tall family was one of the NEOC regulars. Where has Steve been? I wonder if I'd recognize him. The past in the present...

Adding a bit, Don's wife was Chris (Christine) I think. Don was the general secretary for WOC93. And I ran into Steve at some point maybe 15 years ago. He was working in the towers on 9/11, but he happened to be out of the office that morning. Way before that, maybe in the late 70s, he was one of NEOC's three really good juniors, along with Roger Underwood and Erik Tyse. I remember him as a fine young man. I would guess that is still true (from my perspective).

Yep, even a fine young man from my perspective (much like Joe Brautigam and Clint Morse).

Is there a Roger Underwood Jr.? The one I know is older than you, Peter.

I guess Jr. was out of O' before you were in.

Don was one of the first people I met orienteering, and Steve was a regular participant back then (early 80s). My daughter Kathy found him pretty charming, although I am 100% sure she never actually spoke to him. Back when she was, say, 15 or so, if I invited her to go orienteering, she would ask me, "Is Steve Tall going to be there?"
