Pretty soon you'll be up to 100.
Getting in lots of miles! Of course, it's in the 50's there. Here it's windy and below zero.
Decided I didn't have it in me to run or even walk today. Removed snow at my mom's and at home instead.
I understand about the no run/walk. My motivation has been way down. I just do my robot thing and go out. There is a weather factor only I know (invented after living in Okieland). Besides the actual temperature and wind chill temperature there's the most important factor of all. It's called The Temperature I'm Used To Factor. 50 to long time Okie is like 30 to 35 for Duluthian. I did notice your cold temps there. Know you would like to have it back in 30's...and using my own charts we still had it a lot better here than you guys did temperature wise...30's would be balmy for you right now!
And then there's the dreaded Dark Factor. It makes the temperature seem 15 to 20 degrees colder in the winter.
That snow shoveling has to work all kinds of muscles that help balance things out.
I'm topped out in everyway right now. I'm struggling to keep up the mileage and pace after a long stretch of getting faster and more miles (mostly on Sunday). It's like I lost 40 seconds a mile overnight from Tuesday to Wed this week.
Good luck up there. One day at a time warm weather is coming!
Actually there is another factor and it's one that causes as much dread as darkness. The Footing Factor. No matter what the weather if you at least have footing that means a lot. I've shuttered more when reading the logs at the mention of ice, snow and slippery footing.
I know a guy from MN who added on a bit in his log for the "Slippage Factor."
Absolutely...noticing lots of people referencing not just slipping but how easy or difficult the snow they are running in. We had some snow a month ago that was hard to run through even though it was just a few inches deep. Can't keep up with all the logs but I do branch out to some outside Minnesota...a lot in England now. Hannah has a good log. It's interesting to check their temps...then you see Australia...70's.
We are cold and getting colder. Supposed to be 5 below some time in 2 to 4 days...using my above noted adaption chart that is bout like 35 below for you guys. Really don't want to match you guys in the cold weather department. You can win that 'championship' any time and it won't bother me.
You noted something about the cold on your face a day or two ago. That may be the next charted item...slippage, wind chill (old one), wind speed, humidity, altitude. You may need to wear two smart watches to track everything. :-) We are cold for another week. This is like the olden days...winter started in Oklahoma around mid-January...and usually had a brutal stretch Jan/Feb.
