Yes, I did well, didn't I. Maybe risked a speeding ticket or five. And I have suggested someone who inherited my old stick might like to adjust their eventor details.
Its a different system being used by the Organisers to what is normally used. Ilka is the owner of the SI in Eventor, the Bendigo OE database, as well as the OV one. Craig told me, that the event he did last week, you had to re enter, which sounds really different, as you already have everyone entry information. Also the results take some time to publish, and not many ppl have Clubs. Will have to find out what software is being used, and why. There will be a reason
Possibly moved to the open source event system and away from OE.
That's my thought as well, but why is what I will find out. OE connects to Eventor Manager/Eventor, so you need to have a good reason, especially as the new system makes it harder to post results
Timing is all being done with free SIDroid software on a single Android tablet and bluetooth receipt printer. There are some limitations, as you can't input the entries from Eventor. Instead, it uses the SI download to enter the stick and match it to a course. It is perfect if orienteers have personalised their SI sticks with their name and club.
For those that have not, there are 2 solutions. Next week we will try importing a csv file with Eventor entry details. Also, I think Ian Dodd may help people to personalise their sticks before their run.
Results and winsplits can be published immediately at the event. It is just that I had to be at another all day sports event, and others did not get around to it.
Thanks, that explains how Craig described things. You cant get a csv from Eventor, so I do Eventor to OE, then OE to csv. If you use the Athletes database ID, this will make connecting to results easier. Also use Club ID (Bendigo is 65) this should fill in Club information as well. I used this way to import data into OE Score last weekend for the Fowl & Fizz
Any technology that simplifies event management is a good thing.
