Good job on the Bumble yesterday! Being young, you'll be able to jump into the longer events and probably not suffer too much afterward. The trick is not getting injured from training little, then doing something long. You'd probably already been overtraining so there's probably little lost if anything. The wisdom passed on to me by my coach (Olympian Race Walker and past WR holder for the 1 Mile Walk, Todd Scully) when I was 17 was something like it's not that you stop training for a while but that you keep coming back to it. I think having fun with it has importance too.
