Do you know when entries will open & close in Eventor as we are a chance to make the weekend depending on other factors (e.g Border closures, motivation, distractions etc.)

That first item in your 'other factors' will probably determine the likely entry opening time.

I was holding off a bit to open entries - I didn't think people would commit just yet. But can do these soon, I just need to add the event fees.

More interested in the closing date than the opening as may need to leave it to the last minute

Lately, 50% of entries are coming in in the final 24 hours.

As for these events, we'd need to allow at least a week (maybe 10 days) after entries close, for start draws and map printing and allocation/labelling etc for the NOL Hagaby, before we all head up there on Thursday 22nd...so the closing date would have to be just after people get home from NSW Champs.

And yes, we will be providing water on courses - there will likely be a service which you can order in Eventor if you're not inclined to carry your own.

I wish people would pre-enter my event this weekend like I asked them to. I have double sided maps for all courses and multiple maps for the long so am trying to get an estimate of map numbers but so far have just 17 entries. I need to fire them off to the printer tonight.

At least when you have a close date ten days prior you know exactly how many course maps to print (with a few extras for unofficial EODs).

That makes no sense - to have entries close on the Friday night if you are printing 2 days earlier!

I'm waiting for o-ing to comment.

I know it makes no sense but it's the way we've been operating our pre-entries since Covid began and many people won't commit to a local event more than two days in advance. It's more to reduce congestion at the rego table than for map printing numbers (which I'll just estimate based on last year's sprint numbers). We're also not going to tell people on the day 'Oh you didn't pre-register so bugger off'.

Due to the lockdown that was in place until the day prior, pre-entries for my Claisebrook event closed at midday on the day of the event (for a 5pm start)!

We have pre-entry only and close Thursday evening. This has worked OK, with a lot of people entering on the Thursday. I think no matter what day you choose, some people always leave this to the last minute.

Correct. I have become one of those recently just due to the amount of entry fees I've lost with unexpected injuries or army weekends I was coerced to go on. Thankfully no-one even expects me to go on this weekend's one!

We are Pre Entry only, and entries close Friday Evening for the weekend, but the advantage is I have the Printer, so I have already printed maps for all people who have entered so far. Will do another print tomorrow night, and again on Friday

I'm holding off on Bendigo not because I'm unsure whether I'm coming, but I'm waiting to see how I run tomorrow before making a final decision on which course to run.
