Just sit in the car on their phones? Intrigued - and prehaps a little jealous.

My kids sit at home and watch TV or play computer games...in fact, as we leave early-ish they're usually still asleep for the first bit. It was exactly 3 hours door to door, which is totally fine - in fact Tobi asked if we could please stay out a little longer next time!

We could take them with us but without an actual race and associated accoutrements (mainly the food van) there isn't much point really.

We had got to that stage, but then you can’t do that with a baby. Give it 2 years or so. A lot of my midweek runs happen when I finish work (I work 1am - 6pm) and Ray starts work then my daughter will baby sit as long as she gets to watch tv. Seems a fair deal to me. Nursery opens tomorrow though, so I might have to drag her out running too!

How old are your kids these days, Arnold?

Also, BrandNewMe: rough schedule if you really mean 1am-6pm...

13 and almost 10. So definitely leave-aloneable, in fact Claudia is getting quite keen on doing some babysitting for others now!

Unless you are in Illinois where it is illegal to leave children under the age of 14 on their own.

I don’t think there is a law on age here, certainly in Scotland. I’m pretty sure my son demanded I look it up and prove to him that he had to come to the shops with me instead of playing Xbox. And we did and I felt like a right idiot. And yes, 6am - 1pm though it feels like much longer.

BTW film recommendations for kids our age - Sing Street was good if more than a little implausible.

Do you two actually know each other? If not I feel I should make introductions.

No, I was just commenting on BrandNewMe's comment above. I only know her in as much as everyone on Attackpoint occasionally clicks on noisy logs. And people that make grumpy comments from time to time (which includes both of us) occasionally have noisy logs, so I confess to clicking on her log once or twice when that applied.

You and Becks are important links in the Attackpoint network between the UK- and US-based contingents.

Yes, I think the two of you would get on very well. Although you already have a wife called Claire, so it could get confusing.

Or it could be less confusing
