Doesn't sound fun, B. The in person meet may be the thing that you want to do most right now, but you've got to be sure that you are healthy.
Take the long view. I know that's hard. :(
Was reading about long COVID yesterday and one of the things that struck me was that even some people with mild cases seem to have adopted strange breathing patterns that led to very shallow breathing. Mount Sinai have been trialling a deep breathing program - basically different variations of the ‘breathe in for four, hold for four, out for four’ type patterns that you come across in yoga and meditation. They say it is helping a lot of their patients BUT they have not yet done a placebo controlled trial (so it could just be that having a therapist work with you that believes you and doesn’t discount your symptoms as anxiety is also strongly contributing to the positive effect).
Either way, might be worth thinking about for a few mins before going to bed - a few of those exercises, making sure you are breathing “down to the diaphragm “ when you fill your lungs. It might help restful sleep and seems unlikely to hurt - if it helps, that would be great!
Doing my best Ady...thanks.
I already do some meditation/breath control stuff Becky, but it's good to know that it also might be helping recovery as well! Thanks! Hope Euan isn't too sick...
I read that some people who’ve has Covid and got the vaccine found relief from their symptoms (some people a lot, some a little). You probably can’t get the vaccine yet but it may help when you can.
Eligible April 19th! I've read the same and can say that I know someone who had been suffering for almost year with "long covid" and started to feel better pretty quickly after her first dose.
Ya, it's going to be a while before I can get my vaccine. If stuff still isn't right by then though fingers crossed it'll help (really hoping I will be better by then though...)
