Lots of healing left to go. Sounds like things are on the right track.
Yep, I think things are on track. The first two days brought a lot of rapid progress in terms of being able to reduce pain medication. Now I’m mostly off pain meds already but progress doesn’t advance as quickly and there are some dull aches. I go to physio on Monday and we will see what she says about my progress but I’m really only concerned with a good outcome in the end, I’m not really looking to rush anything especially if it could jeopardize the final outcome.
For sure! Ski season is finished but I assume you have a good biking season to look forward to. :)
Yes, missed part of this ski season and I believe I will miss most or all of next ski season too (12 month recovery or longer before allowed to ski) but biking will definitely be encouraged this summer. We will see how much I can take on but I will take what I can get and accept what I can’t.
Great attitude. You'll be using this knee for a looooong time!
I had to use a platform pedal with power grip on my post-surgery knee for a while to avoid having to rotate under force to unclip. Also spun very low gears of course.
Yes, I bought some flat pedals the day after my injury and have been using them for indoor spinning. That’s what I will be using for the post-surgery spins and outdoor rides for a while too.
