I’m in recovery and the pain is not bad... good meds.
I start PT tomorrow and looking forward to skiing and biking in my future.

Wait! Do I see hydraulic lines for augmented double poling strength? This is worse than fluoro fever!

Yes Dr says I should win the Birkie next year.... I won’t even need to use my legs :-)

Was there some injury in the past or do you think it was simply years of use? Good luck on the recovery.

Here’s the story. Back when I was teaching PE, I played all the games football, badminton etc.
during track and field I was throwing a 16 lb shot put and felt something weird.
After retiring I was stump grinding buckthorn and had a kick back of the machine and once again felt something weird go up and down my arm. I also have done too much landscaping which is tough on the body.
In 2012 I had anchors put in my labrum and that surgery never seemed to work.
This year xc skiing my shoulder told me extreme pain after 90 minutes.
So I worn down whatever I had, and the ball was out of the socket. I’m not sure why others have the same reverse shoulder replacement, but I seemed to be a good candidate. I also as I heard about success stories with this procedure.
I’ll be happy just to orienteer and bike again and optimistic about xc skiing next season.

Ok, no more landscaping for me, or stump grinding. See you in Hayward if not before!

Your story resonates... since retiring, my main activity has been 'landscaping' (fighting invasives and cutting down trees) and it's wearing out a full range of body parts. Time to take a day off!
