Shameful. https://twitter.com/BBCBreakfast/status/1373924414... - our mayor speaks out.

this minority are only interested in causing aggro, they get off on it. They don't really care about "social justice".

I stayed in with a beer & had an early night.

I hate to say it, but some of my "friends" (now ex-friends, and soon to be left behind when I move anyway) think that the hooligans were planted BY the gov't to cause trouble to drum up support for the Bill.

these are the same "friends" who've decided that the vaccine is a conspiracy, and COVID was a hoax, and the lockdown is a means to "control us" and "remove our freedoms one at a time".

Can't believe i gave them airtime last year. There wont' be any more trips to Cheshire, let's put it that way.

2020 & beyond certainly divides people, as did Brexit.

So I was wasting my time looking out for you on the tv reports :)

Dear me ............! Yes you were!

This was the facebook post of one of my ex friends yesterday - opinion? (keeping this on here of course) "Back people into a corner and they come out fighting. The young people have been fucked over for waaay too long."

- not really borne out by the footage of what happened.

Don't knock Cheshire; we're not all bad

I just think we're all bored to death. Any chance to get some excitement and we're going to take it. For some that's protesting/rioting in Bristol, others partying in Miami and others going on a car cruise in Slough.
It's bad enough for us 50 somethings, it must be far worse for youngsters for whom a year is big chunk of their life. Not that I want to excuse any illegal behaviour, just trying to understand why it's happening.
All my in-laws live in Cheshire. I'm quite happy not to have been allowed to visit for the last year ;-)

I agree it must be truly atrocious for the 20-somethings. Can't imagine it. I'm happy staying in with my laptop & supermarket beers most of the time. No way would that have been sufficient back in the 80s ..........

Yes - I'd use the line "That explains it but doesn't excuse it", for "bad" behaviour.

I dont think Bristol rioters were explained tho - they went tooooo far.

I was talking about one particular place in Cheshire...... :-)
