I ask 'At what point does tRicky stop pretending to be an elite?'

I probably should have at least entered M40 for the NSW Champs but regardless of whether I entered M40 or M21, I'd be running against both Bruce and Martin on at least one of the days (though I could have gotten away from Aston, who's now also entered).

Jenny made that decision after the embarrassment of last year's Melbourne Sprint weekend.

Still slightly tempted to run the NOL middle at Renmark, but may be too busy with set-up for the next day anyhow.

I was feeling pretty confident about running 21e a few weeks ago, but the last 3 weeks of being sick and no training is making me nervous.

You know you've been in a sport for a long time when.... someone who had their first year in 21s is now in the 50's.

I'm just hoping to be able to walk again by next Friday.

Once upon a time the plan was to get fit for Easter. These days the plan is to not break down before Easter. Training is a risky activity.

I'm looking forward to the hot M45 competition at Easter, including Rob, Grant, Andy, Craig x 2, Fredrik, Damien, Simon and others. There will be more challenge and pressure to run well here, than there would be making up the numbers in elites.
Perhaps it's time for a SNOL.

You mean Craig x 1: https://www.attackpoint.org/viewlog.jsp/user_1629/...

Why not? All age categories get national series points for MTBO. It's really the main reason I still run stupid elites at the foot events - there's no serious senior points comp (outside Easter and nationals anyway).

Wow - I'll second the SNOL proposal!!!!!

Sounds like something which you blow out of your nose though...

The idea was floated a couple of years back but no-one pushed it further - I could see it being a goer if someone was prepared to drive it. Makes sense to make use of the NOL events which are already being organised.

So maybe I don't have to worry about getting round an elite long distance after all...

The governments all want to restart the economy(s) but that's never going to happen while it's impossible to plan anything in advance!

Mind you I'm trying to figure out if it's going to be the mice or funnel web spiders that get me first this weekend.

And I'm trying to work out whether there will be enough non-Qld attendees to justify holding the L3 controllers' workshop.

@Ricky: at least it won't be moles coming up under your tent.

At least whack-a-mole would be on par with government policy at the moment.
