Hope it's just seasonal allergies or Degue fever (okay, not that), or food poisoning. Glad you're getting your first shot!

All the best.

Yeah, for sure hope it's not covid and that you feel better soon.

Hope you don't have to delay your covid shot because you are sick. Feel better.

Gail - that's what I'm afraid of. Hopefully I'll get the results tomorrow. If not, the shot place is in Cheyenne, so I can start driving there and see if they come in. If not, then I'll have to cancel just to be safe.

Where I went for my shot, they took my temperature. If they do the same, and you have a fever, you won't get your shot.

And...I have Covid. After spending the last year being so careful, I get it three days before my vaccine. I am so bummed.

Wow, so sorry. I hope you have a mild case and it resolves quickly.

Oh no. Keeping our fingers crossed for a quick recovery.

Poor you! Hope you recover quickly.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. I know we've all been so careful and we'd feel really bad too if we then caught it (which I, certainly, could have, as I have gone to restaurants and stores and work).
I hope you can get your vaccine anyway! Hugs.

Oof, what a bummer. Hope you have a mild case and recover quickly.

Drat!! Hope it's mild and you don't have long-lasting effects. That's my biggest fear.

So sorry to hear that. I hope it's mild and you have a quick recovery!

Oh, so sorry to hear you have COVID. But, perhaps you can give some insight on how a very careful person like yourself was exposed. And, if this is really rude of me to ask, please forgive me.

Oh no. Hope you're able to recover quickly. Very frustrating timing.

OMG! So sorry to see this. Especially as you are so close to the vax. Be careful and get well soon.

Hey Valerie. No, not rude at all. I'm not sure how I got it. I mostly go to the grocery store and hardware store, always with a mask and using hand sanitizer as soon as I get back to the car. My big excursion was a trip to Boulder, but that was two weeks ago -- the outside limit for symptoms to show up after exposure. So, who knows.

Some people might think that's not being careful, but I've been doing the same routine all year, so maybe I've just been lucky. And it finally caught up with me.

That's a lesson to all of us -- we can do what we think is safe and still get it. The new variants are easier to catch and we all (especially those not yet vaccinated) need to continue to be vigilant.
Thanks for sharing.

gail:
Yeah, I was wondering if it might be one of the variants. Who knows, but maybe what you had been doing for regular covid, wasn't good enough for the easier to catch kind.

Wishing you a swift, smooth recovery. A Toronto ICU physician recently said that with the new variants, many of his current ICU patients say they’ve only gone grocery shopping. I’ve been dubious since most people I know who say that are overlooking some riskier aspect of their lives, e.g. kids going to school, kids playing with a neighbour family, working outside the home, carpooling, having indoor coffee with someone who doesn’t live with them, etc. But in your case, none of those things applies, which shows how transmissible Covid can be. :( Get well soon.

Oof. That's really a shame. Really hope your symptoms aren't bad.

Oh, yuck. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

The grocery shopping comments have my attention. I've been feeling pretty good about my school's processes, but it's a good reminder that now is not the time to lose focus. Thanks for sharing.

Sobering and personally scary as someone in much the same boat except I will have to fly back to DC before I can get vaccinated. In about 3 weeks.

Now to go reread your later post about the symptoms, which sounded awful even if not hospitalization awful. I hope they're on the wane from here on out.
