According to the maps uploaded to your log, even having done the same course already on Sunday doesn't seem to have helped...

Just shows the confusion hasn't ended.

The inglorious run is now available for your amusement.

If it makes you feel any better, I executed that same long leg at which you were successful, very poorly (i.e. hit the ridgeline waay too far to the north and ended up taking 26 min altogether).

I think my Easter was typefied by identifying the decisive leg, executing it correctly, then relaxing and losing lots of time on the following leg.

I can see how rough it was. Normally and in Bendigo terrain, your track is smooth and often a straight line. Your tracks for these events were wobbly and all over the place. Must have been tough.

I think tough was the very general consensus. But not the physically toughest map either. Part of the reason for wobbles was travelling from feature to feature to stay in contact. The area I have just finished mapping will be much easier running if you keep out of the green, but gps tracks will still be very wobbly.

When/where? I would have said that I'll be there with bells on but the past year has taught me not to use my frequent flyer points to book flights to Melbourne any more.

Still waiting to get to the Tarnagulla event...

It may be shorter/faster to drive

Hopefully a local event in 2021. I fear permit issues in the future similar to Grampians and climbing so want to set a precedent of orienteering use sooner rather than later. Location within sight of Korong. Three hours from Melbourne, six from Adelaide. One from Bendigo. Somewhat isolated obviously. The servo at Serpentine does old fashioned fish and chips though.
And if you only have points for one trip you will have to choose between granite and mining.

We should be up for a few Bendigo events this year. Currently looking at May 1, 22 and the June long weekend. Can't plan further than that at the moment (mainly because there aren't any listed)!

Yes, I will be raising that at the next meeting. 28 August for the new terrain at Tarnagulla.
