Seems to be the subject of vast flooding if that was the centre. You did ride the parkrun course though.
Pretty narrow track for Parkrun?
No sign of floods?
Aww, you are making me homesick :(
Clearly Ricky was thinking you meant epicentre of the town, not town centre! The parkrun course only goes east as far as the grain wharf, and back towards the other end of the beach (does this twice).
Hope you admired all 3 of these statues:
Makybe Diva
Tuna Poler
Matthew Flinders and his cat Trim
Yep, if you follow Fizzyred on Instagram or Facebook you can see the evidence of the statues.
A lot of parkrun courses are only the width of a bike path. Port Lincoln gets 60-80 on average so not a huge one. As Jenny says it's a double out and back (though starts in the middle of the course so a double, double out and back) - once to the wharf and in the other direction past the Makybe Diva statue (just past the jetty). Probably fairly unlikely I'll ever run that course (Bryan Hardy has done it, as have Russell and Jan Candy).
