Jeez... Phoebe busted out a giant PR today in Massachusetts. She dropped from a 10:58 to a 10:31 to move to #2 on the all-time Vermont list. Has a (small) shot at Nationals!
She'd run 11:19 two weeks ago, after falling in the water pit and tripping and having to climb over a hurdle later.

Suddenly racing everywhere! Tough girl. Congrats.

If the 1/2 is too much I can just shuffle along and finish. It will do me good as long to try to keep racing. Starting with longer races rather than short ones. We'll see how that plan works out.

Downhill. But, I was doubtful that I'd break 7:00, so I'm happy!

6:20!!!! You still had to turn your legs over to run 6:20 so your mind and body registered 6:20.

Look at your training: 1. You are running slow allowing your heart to rest but still be worked. 2. You are sneaking in longer runs here and there, some slow some 'quick'. 3. Every so often you are running 6:20...okay once so far...but other quickish outbursts also.

I get to run a downhill mile at my parents...first 1/3 and last 1/3 are flat but the middle 1/3 is just the right downhill to get going if I feel like it. Finally ran a sub 8 minute mile (during 5 mile) last Christmas for first time in about 114 years (I believe it was 1907 or so...or maybe that was when John Wayne was born).
